Why You’ll Love Shapes in the Clouds at Pacific Dance Festival 2025
What does it mean to dream big — and who helps you believe that you can?
In Shapes in the Clouds, Pacific Dance Festival 2025 invites you to step into a world of imagination, heart, and movement. This vibrant and emotional dance-theatre work follows ROBOTZ, an 11-year-old superhero-in-training, as he teams up with his friend MITI to explore the big dreams, quiet struggles, and invisible threads that connect generations.
Created by Tauveve Andy Tilo-Faiaoga, Shapes in the Clouds brings together dance, poetry, song, and digital storytelling to shine a light on the powerful bond between a young dreamer and his father — a man living in the shadow of his own unfulfilled aspirations.
This is a story that speaks to everyone who has ever dreamed, doubted, tried again, or dared to fly.
Whether you're a parent, an educator, a dancer, or just someone who remembers what it’s like to see the world through curious eyes — this show will leave you feeling seen, inspired, and reconnected.
🎭 Why It’s Part of a Double Bill
Shapes in the Clouds is presented as part of a Double Bill — a format that brings two full performances together in one exciting evening.
Double Bills are a popular tradition in theatre and dance programming. They give audiences the chance to see two contrasting or complementary works back-to-back, often with a shared theme or emotional thread. For Pacific Dance Festival 2025, Shapes in the Clouds is paired with KUINI, a powerful tribute to Queen Sālote Tupou III, choreographed by Lyncia Muller.
Where Shapes in the Clouds explores dreams and connection through the lens of childhood and family, KUINI looks at legacy, leadership, and cultural memory. Together, they create a night of movement that spans past, present, and future — and reflects the richness of Pacific storytelling.
🌈 Who Is This Show For?
Shapes in the Clouds is perfect for:
Families — especially parents and children who want to share a meaningful theatre experience
Dance lovers and students — who want to see storytelling and choreography blend across generations

Educators and creatives — who value stories that centre Pacific identity, imagination, and intergenerational healing
This is not just a show — it's a conversation between generations, told through movement that speaks louder than words.
